Just in time for Easter, Forty-Seven Days with Jesus is a must-see, family-friendly, Christian movie that tells the last 47 days of Jesus’ life on Earth.
About Forty-Seven Days with Jesus
Forty-Seven Days with Jesus is kind of like a musical within a movie, and tells the story of a family on the brink of divorce, while also telling the story of Jesus’ last 47 days on Earth.
Starring Yoshi Barrigas and Catherine Lidstone from The Chosen and featuring unforgettable original music, Forty-Seven Days with Jesus tells The Gospel through musical theatrics, while reminding us the importance of faith and forgiveness!

My Review of Forty-Seven Days with Jesus
I was fortunate to get to screen Forty-Seven Days with Jesus in exchange for an honest review before it hits theaters, and my family and I enjoyed it. I wasn’t expecting it to be a musical, and technically, it wasn’t a musical, but there were a lot of musical scenes as The Gospel was played out as a musical throughout the movie. Okay, so that may have been a little confusing, but it was a regular movie, and the parts of the movie that showed The Gospel and went over the last 47 days of Jesus’ life on Earth, were in the form of a musical.
The movie told the story of a couple facing marital discontent, while also sprinkling in the last 47 days of Jesus’ life through musical theatrics, shifting back and forth from the movie to The Gospel as they told the story to the children. The movie is very easy to follow for both adults and children and by flipping from movie to musical, it made The Gospel standout well and was very recognizable, especially for younger children who may not know the whole story.
While the movie does include the crucifixion, it does so carefully; it was impactful, but still very clean and child-friendly. (In other words, there was no gore and no extreme scenes that would be too much for even small children!)
Overall, the movie was great. I’m not a huge fan of musicals, but the adding of the musical scenes did not bother me at all. I loved the story line, the cleaver way they added in Jesus’ last 47 days on Earth, and how it all came together! (It was almost like mixing two movies together, but it worked! It worked very well, actually!) And, it is being released just in time for Easter!
